Several years ago, I saw a charming dog looking out from a Pet Magazine. The bright eyes, the mischievious look, the come hither appeal... I was bought and sold. I wasn't able to rush out and get a toller, but I went to shows (when I knew about them) and became determined that I would have a toller for my friend. In August of 1997, CH Rideau's Scotian Mischief (Missy) had a litter (of 9) thanks to the contribution of genes from Rodahunds Bus-Buller Mas-Son (SWE). This little fellow, from that litter, came home with me in October 1997. What an exciting day! How large the yard seemed! I named the young fella after my favourite movie dog, Gromit. |

Gromit's favourite post is at the top of the stairs to the second floor. From here he can supervise me in my office or watch me as I stretch out on the couch; he can watch the cats at their meals, or investigate cooking activities. He also loves his crate which is in my office, next to my desk. When we're in the car, he sings with delight when he recognizes the school or the road to the Riley's (where his sister Betsy is waiting for a game!) His repetoire includes a rolling trill that he inherited from his father. |

As this handsome young fellow matures, I fall in love over and over again. He's a joy in obedience class and is finally getting the idea of stand, he'd much rather lay down and observe, but if I continue to enjoy myself that seems to be reason enough for him. |
